What do I need to use TelaHosting's

All you need to use TelaHosting's Web hosting services is
a computer with a browser and a connection to the Internet.

Does TelaHosting provide Internet service?
No. TelaHosting is not an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
An ISP provides a connection to the Internet via dial-up, digital cable
or DSL. TelaHosting, a Web hosting provider, provides Web servers on which
you can place your Web site files for people to access via the Internet.
To use TelaHosting's Web hosting services, you must have an Internet connection.

Do I need any special software?
As long as you have a browser and an Internet connection,
you can get your Web site up and running. TelaHosting provides a Web-based
FTP tool you can use to upload your files as well as an optional site
building tool you can use to design your site. Of course, you can use
your own FTP and HTML applications if you like.

What platforms or operating systems
does TelaHosting use?
TelaHosting offers both Linux platforms.
Our Linux platforms run Apache Web server software.

If I use Microsoft® Windows®
at home, can I still host my site on a Linux platform?
In most cases it does not matter if you are using a different
operating system at home or work. For example, you could use a Microsoft®
Windows® XP system running Dreamweaver® to design your site and
then upload it to your Linux Web server without any problems.

Does TelaHosting offer 24-hour support?
Yes. TelaHosting's technical support staff is available 24-hours
a day to assist you with any problems you have. All of our plans provide
email support.

Can I access my site at any time
to make changes?
Yes. You can access your Web site files at any time to
upload files or make changes. You can use TelaHosting's Web-based FTP to access
your files, or you can use a third-party FTP client or Web development
tool such as FrontPage. Any changes you make to your site will take effect
immediately.

How do
I manage my account and access TelaHosting's tools? What about checking email?
TelaHosting provides a Web-based control panel, Cpanel, you can use
to manage all aspects of your Web hosting account and access TelaHosting's
suite of tools. TelaHosting also provides a Web-based email tool within Cpanel,
that enables you to send and receive email.
Because both of these tools are Web-based, you can access them at any
time and from any location as long as you have a browser and a connection
to the Internet.

Does TelaHosting
support Microsoft
FrontPage?
Microsoft FrontPage provides users with a What You See
is What You Get (WYSIWYG) HTML editor and includes a publish feature that
enables users to transfer files to and from the Web server. FrontPage
also supports advanced features such guest books and hit counters. All
of TelaHosting's plans support Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft FrontPage
Server Extensions.

What database solutions does TelaHosting
offer?
TelaHosting offers a number of database solutions. For select Linux plans,
TelaHosting offers MySQL,
an open source relational database management system that utilizes the
SQL database language. It is a multi-user, multi-threaded database server
that provides speed, robustness and ease-of-use. TelaHosting's MySQL databases
are hosted on a dedicated MySQL server to ensure better database processing
and faster performance.

What type of data center does
TelaHosting have? Is it secure?
Our servers are located in Columbus, Ohio and connected to 15 Gigabit Ethernet links from six separate backbone providers, who each run fiber optic cable into the data center through two separate entry points.
TelaHosting data centers include fully redundant and diverse connections
to the Internet backbone through multiple OC-3s and GigE connections
to each of our international locations. This ensures the fastest and
the most reliable connectivity service to our hosting customers.
The constant climate control is accomplished with computer controlled
HVAC systems with back-up systems on stand-by. The power is routed through
UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supplies) for protection against power failures
and interruptions.
TelaHosting data centers are under constant watch by our dedicated systems
and network engineering team members who work together to ensure smooth
and hassle-free 24x7 operation of our customers' Web sites.

What is TelaHosting's policy on upgrading
software that comes with my Hosting plan?
Software is upgraded immediately to ensure you are always hosting on the
latest technical developments and in a secure environment.

Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the WWW?
Yes, you will be able to access the domain name with or without the WWW
in front. For example, you could access the domain name "mydomain.com"
by going to "www.mydomain.com" as well as "mydomain.com".

How do I transfer files to my web site?
Files must be
transferred to the web server via File Transport Protocol (FTP). If you
have a PPP internet account and need FTP software, you can download a
program for either the PC or Mac from our site.
If you use WSFTP:
Your ftp settings would be as follows:
Profile Name: any name (doesn't matter)
Host Name/Address: your-actual-domain.com
Host Type: Automatic Detect
User ID: type in your ftp username here including capitalization
Password: type in your password here including capitalization
Save Password box: Put a check in this box
Anonymous box: Leave this blank
Account: Leave this blank
Don't add anything else to your settings like "ftp://"
If you use Front Page to work on your site then we will assign you a
Front Page username and password which you would use to publish to your
site.
You can also use the FTP function that is built into Internet
Explorer. Just type ftp://www.your-actual-domain.com into your browser's
address bar where you would substitute your actual domain name for
your-actual-domain.com. Then when prompted type in your username and
password.

What type of web sites does TelaHosting host?
We host
commercial and non-commercial web sites. However, we do not host adult
oriented sites.
